Silver Contact Tips

Our electrical silver contact tip series are commonly used in circuit breaker, relays, thermal control, switches and EDM applications. Silver contact tips are flat electrical contacts comprises of silver and silver alloy with high electrical conductivity properties, and are available ranging from silver graphite (AgW) to oxide metal alloy such as silver tin indium oxide (AgSnO2In2O3).

01

Silver Graphite Contact Tip

Manufactured utilizing extrusion and cut methodology, Silver Graphite (AgC) contact tip is an environmentally friendly contact with properties that include low contact resistance, anti-welding and good lubricity in sliding applications. It is commonly used in low voltage switches and circuit breaker contact systems.

Silver Tungsten Contact Tip

Silver Tungsten (AgW) contact tip possesses good conductivity, good welding and corrosion resistance. Further, with additional properties including better resistance to melting, low material transfer, high hardness and strong resistance to high current arc, it is commonly used in industrial and domestic circuit breakers.

AgW Material Information

- Silver Content Range: 24-51%
- Supply State: Hard
- Manufacturing Methodology: Power Metallurgy
- Available Models:
AgW (50), AgW (55), AgW (60), AgW (65)

Silver Tungsten Carbide Contact Tip

Silver Tungsten Carbide (AgWC) contact tip exhibits
good resistance to welding and arc erosion. Due to its harder state and resistance against contact wear compared to AgW, this material is commonly used as arcing contacts in circuit breaker applications.

Silver Tin Oxide Contact Tip

Manufactured using either power metallurgy or sintering/extrusion method, Silver Tin Oxide (AgSnO2) contact tip is commonly chosen as the replacement for AgCdO2. It is widely used for medium and high current contact relays due to its high resistance to welding, burn out and low material transfer.

Silver Tin Oxide Indium Oxide Contact Tip

Silver Tin Oxide Indium Oxide (AgSnO2InO3) contact tip is similar to AgSnO2 material but it offers higher resistance to inrush current. Due to its high welding resistance, low material transfer and better resistance to instantaneous high input current, it is widely used for medium to high current relays, circuit breakers and contactors.
